About Color of Culture

The Color of Culture Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to supporting diversity by designing projects for California youth and families. Our mission is to equip historically marginalized individuals with the various tools they need to be successful, healthy and educated.

The Color of Culture focuses on one central program, The Young CEO project, which aims to collaborate with influential organizations and educational entities to create community programs that offer youth and families the following services:

Mental health support; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM); Sports; Academic enrichment through tutoring and workshops; Art; and Community events centered around the celebration of diverse cultures and environmental wellness.

Grant Projects & Collaborations

At the Color of Culture, our collaborations have led to over $12,000,000 in funding.

We are the writers of the Mental Health Services Demonstration Grant awarded in 2023 that provided $11.3 million to offer extensive Mental Health services to underrepresented youth in Ventura County through the Department of Education.

We are the writers of the Tobacco Use Prevention Education Grant awarded in 2023 that provided over $500,000 towards tobacco and vape-free schools in an effort to slow the tobacco epidemic affecting young and vulnerable underrepresented youth from Black, Latino and LGBTQ+ demographics. This grant was awarded through the California Department of Education to service Ventura County.

We are the writers of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative Grant (CYBHI) awarded in 2023 that provided $750,000 to support trauma-informed mental health centers for students with lived experiences of trauma. This grant was awarded through the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) in effort to support Ventura County.

The Color of Culture collaborated with the Conejo Free Clinic in 2024 to co-write a grant to the Hilton Foundation that would mitigate homelessness for college students and families within Los Angeles and Ventura counties. This grant was awarded and provides much needed supplies, employees, and care to vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness.

In 2024, The Color of Culture Foundation teamed up with the Family First Foundation to implement the Young CEO Project at the West Oakland Youth Center. This program, will provide Oakland youth with STEM focused activities beginning July 2025.

In 2025, The Color of Culture is working to create community-based digital campaigns that encourage watershed collection and water conservation that will utilize art, music, and community collaboration.
